Development Coordinator: Part-time summer position at CFUV.

This is a great opportunity to be part of our crazy staff! We’re looking to fill a position for the summer. Please review the following criteria and consider applying if you qualify:

Principal Duties:

Accountable to the Station Manager, the Development Coordinator works as part of a team and is expected to be involved in many areas of the station’s operations. Specific areas of responsibility include:

  • Assist in the recruitment, processing and training of new volunteers from the local community; with particular focus on those from marginalized groups
  • Supervising weekly special-needs volunteers
  • Coordinating off-campus promotional and recruitment events and organizing for on-campus events in August and September
  • Coordinating and leading media day-camps for youth, including Francophone youth
  • Audio production of sponsor messages and special announcements for on-air broadcast
  • Processing and sorting daily public service announcements and mail
  • Other duties as required

Desirable Qualifications:

1. Ability to prioritize, work independently and take direction

2. Excellent written and oral communication skills

3. Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills

4. Good computer skills

5. Must be prompt, professional and conscientious

6. Must be able to work in a fast-paced team environment

7. Experience working with youth an asset

8. Experience in leading trainings an asset

Terms of Employment: 10-30 hours per week, pending grant funding confirmation. Work term May 1st, 2014-July 31st, 2014. One may need to work outside office hours and on weekends. Applicants must be between 15 and 30 years of age, a BC resident, not currently receiving EI and not returning to school full-time in the fall.
