Vivek Shraya Book Launch & QT2IPOC Writing workshop @ Ambrosia Centre on Tues Sept 23

Vivek Shraya, author of She of the Mountains a beautifully rendered illustrated novel, will be hosting a Book Launch at Ambrosia Centre on Tues, Sept 23 @ 7pm.
There will also be a QT2IPOC (queer, trans, two-spirited Indigenous and people of colour) Writing workshop @ 5pm on Tues, Sept 23.
The UVic Pride, UVSS Students of Colour Collective (SOCC), The anti.violence.project, and the Positive Space Network (PSN) bring this free event that features She of the Mountains, a novel that highlights a passionate, contemporary love story with a re-imagining of Hindu mythology.
Self identified queer, trans*, two-spirit Indigenous and/or people of colour are welcomed to join us beforehand at 5pm for a writing workshop with Vivek at the Ambrosia centre. Dinner will be provided. Participants will be invited to share their writing at the QT2IPOC open mic and showcase following Vivek’s reading.
Vivek is a Toronto-based artist working in the media of music, performance, literature and film as well as the winner of the We are Listening International Singer/Songwriter Award and a two-time Lambda Literary Award finalist.
