Hi; The album and song are called Fish Out of Water and the singer is Portland Blues Diva Karen Lovely. The cd/album should be out within the month. You might want to check her website. i think you can get the MP3 download that way now. She is very good/outstanding live. She will be here in about 6 weeks (if you live in Victoria)…
Thanks a lot for listening. I appreciate your kind words and support. i’m away this week but give Georgie a listen at the same time. She is a CFUV fav.
Anything else you need, let me know.

        Stay Groovey

Hi Jim: Thanks for playing Chris Antonik’s “Hungry Ghost” and the guitar tone he used throughout. It took me back 50 years to Steve Miller Band’s “Song For Our Ancestors” from the album Sailor, and a similar guitar sound used on a different style of song. Nice writing and guitar from different generations.

      • Jim says: April 30, 2017

Thanks Greg… maybe the Steve Miller thing is why I connected to Chris. It is a nice album… thoughtful and mature and as you say musically strong. I’ll play more…

      Hi Jim!
Thanks to our friend Tom Kitts you got our album and he just sent me a message that it’s being played on your show/station! Spank you very much! Listening to the archives now… Love to hook up with you sometime and please put me on any mailings you do!

      • Jim says: May 12, 2017

No problem… I understand that the cd is getting play on a wide range of shows. Victoria has a very active R&B/Soul scene among young people here. Your record fits nicely across a range of CFUV shows… blues… soul etc.
        Stay Cool…

Stumbled on this show and am loving it so far, although it’s making me want to sneak away and find a divey blues bar to spend the afternoon in.

Hope you’re doing well Jim! (You taught me at RDC. I was in your classics class and wrote the paper on Roman Food)

    9. Daniel says: November 16, 2018

There was a song playing today (16/11/2018) at around 10:05/10:10 – female singer, very folky. Only line I could catch was “on the median ground”. Any thoughts of who that could be? Thanks
