Description: Between Revolutions features sounds from the in-between spaces of revolutionary time. Revolution is a process that we live within, a process of mundane practices of everyday resistance, which uphold the momentous/momentaneous revolutionary instances that are widely visible (i.e. the rally, the revolt). And revolutionary music is always emerging from the in-between. This program features these queer voices; minor characters in the field of "revolution music" by widening the scope of what resistance sounds like, and finding the resonance between distinct messages and sounds, distinct struggles and lineages. The show dances with questions, digs deep in the global crates, and feels/finds community through these shared listenings. The name is borrowed from Larry Mitchell and Ned Asta's queer fable-manifesto "The Faggots and Their Friends Between Revolutions”. Listen to a STREAM of last week's program:

Description: Welcome to Harlequin Canon- a show where each week we explore a different obscure subgenre of music and dust off the musical canon, revealing unknown and forgotten bands that helped define music. Like other art, musical aesthetics and styles are a palimpsest of older ideas--so I'll do my best to unravel those histories! I know there are a lot of birders in Victoria who may be thinking of the harlequin duck— a small duck of fast-flowing streams around the Arctic and North Pacific—but the name of the show actually refers to Harlequin, a playful clown-like figure traditionally used in silent pantomime, with a history going all the way back to pre-medieval European folklore. This show is for all the music nerds out there, hopefully it will enirch your evening sonorously. This show shares a bi-weekly spot with Renegade Rock. Listen to a STREAM of last week’s program:
