Campus Podcasting Coordinator
JOB DESCRIPTION:
CFUV 101.9 FM is Victoria’s non-profit, volunteer-driven campus/community radio station, located in the basement of the SUB.
This position is responsible for facilitating and producing podcasts centered around campus culture and student issues. The podcasts will be featured as part of CFUV’s spoken-word programming community block, CFUV Speaks.
Under the direction of the Broadcast Director, the Producer will liaise with student clubs and advocacy groups to produce content by and for UVIC students. This position will coordinate interviews, record/edit audio, and create podcast episodes for broadcast and online distribution.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience with project management.
- Demonstrably deadline-oriented.
- An interest in broadcasting and/or journalism.
- BONUS: Experience with digital audio workstations (Audacity, Audition, etc.)

Accessibility Programming Producer
JOB DESCRIPTION:
CFUV 101.9 FM is Victoria’s non-profit, volunteer-driven campus/community radio station, located in the basement of the SUB.
The Accessibility Programming Producer is responsible for producing a weekly, hour-long program for and by people with disabilities. The program, Voluntary Noise, features a small group of neurodivergent volunteers who collectively curate the program.
Under the direction of the Broadcast Director, the Producer manages the team of volunteers, supports their efforts, arranges studio sessions, and produces the final each episode prior its air date.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- A self-starter who is able to work independently.
- Experience/interest in supporting people with disabilities.
- Highly organized and deadline-oriented.
- Approachable and comfortable communicating in various mediums (in-person, phone-call,
video-call)

Equitable Broadcasting Coordinator
JOB DESCRIPTION:
CFUV 101.9 FM is Victoria’s non-profit, volunteer-driven campus/community radio station, located in the basement of the SUB.
The Equitable Broadcasting Coordinator is responsible for producing a weekly, hour long program for and by racialized people and artists. This program elevates the art produced by BIPOC musicians and the broadcast/podcast creations of BIPOC volunteers at CFUV by showcasing them.
Under the direction of the Broadcast Director, the Producer manages the team of volunteers, supporting their efforts, arranging volunteer studio sessions, and producing the final version of the episode prior its air date.
QUALIFICATIONS:

- Interest/experience in creating and sharing stories by and for BIPOC communities
- Highly organized and deadline-oriented.
- Approachable and comfortable engaging with the public.

Communications Coordinator

The Communications Coordinator is responsible for the development of social media and newsletter content to promote CFUV’s programming, events, and volunteer opportunities.
Under the direction of the Station Manager, the Communications Coordinator manages a team of volunteers, supports their efforts, organizes filming and editing sessions, and uploads content to CFUV’s web and social media platforms.
QUALIFICATIONS
- A creative self-starter who is able to work independently.
- Highly organized and deadline-oriented.
- Interest/experience in creating and sharing stories by and for BIPOC communities

Podcast Producer – “Beyond the Jargon”
JOB DESCRIPTION:
CFUV 101.9 FM is Victoria’s non-profit, volunteer-driven campus/community radio station, located in the basement of the SUB.
The podcast producer of beyond the jargon is responsible for producing Season 16 of Beyond the Jargon, a podcast which promotes and presents the research of UVIC Graduate Students in a digestible manner. The role will receive support, mentorship, and training from CFUV and will work̓ through the entire podcast development, production, and distribution sequence.
This position is an experiential learning opportunity for an individual with an interest in storytelling, journalism and learning new skills. Prior experience is an asset but not required. This position will receive support and mentorship from CFUV’s Station Manager and other CFUV employees.
TASKS AND RESPONSIBILTIES:
- Development of between 4-6 podcast episodes between 40-60 minutes
a. Narrative development, story pitching
b. Research and script-writing
c. Conducting interviews, narration, and audio production
d. Final edits - Working collaboratively with the Station Manager, Broadcast Director, other CFUV employees, and CFUV’s Podcasting team
- Other tasks as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Interest in storytelling and journalism
- Written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and consistently meet deadlines
