We’re hiring! Work part-time for CFUV this summer (deadline: May 1)

CFUV is hiring a part-time Development Coordinator to work for us this summer!

Applicants must be between 15 and 30, a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or a person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Act. They also must have been a registered full-time student in the previous academic year and be returning to school on a full-time basis in the next academic year.

Principal Duties:

Accountable to the Station Manager, the Development Coordinator works as part of a team and is expected to be involved in many areas of the station’s operations. Experience in broadcasting an asset but not required, training will be provided. Specific areas of responsibility include:

• Assist in the recruitment, processing and training of new volunteers from the local community; with particular focus on youth and multicultural communities
• Supervising weekly special-needs volunteers
• Aid in the coordination and promotion of the Eventide music series
• Coordinating off-campus promotional and recruitment events and organizing for on-campus events in August and September
• Coordinating and leading media day-camps for youth, including tours for Francophone youth
• Audio production of sponsor messages and special announcements for on-air broadcast
• Processing and sorting daily public service announcements and mail
• Other duties as required

Desirable Qualifications:

• Ability to prioritize, work independently and take direction
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
• Good computer skills
• Must be prompt, professional and conscientious
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced team environment
• Experience working with youth an asset
• Fluency in French or second language an asset

Terms of Employment: 30 hours a week at $14.75 per hour.
