Maasai choir brings message of hope this weekend in Victoria!

Written by on 09/28/2011

A message of hope, faith and celebration is spreading across North America. This fall, six members of the En-Kata choir from Tanzania, Africa, are sharing songs and stories from the heart of their continent. The ‘Hope of the Maasai’ Tour 2011 will lead them through four Canadian provinces and six U.S. states, touching audiences with their testimonies of triumph over HIV/AIDS, disease and poverty.

The choir will start the tour off with a number of events in Victoria and area this weekend:

Friday, September 30, 7:00pm
North Douglas Pentecostal Tabernacle (675 Jolly Place, Victoria)

Saturday, October 1, 7:00pm
Westsong Community Church (Isabelle Reader Theatre, 1026 Goldstream Avenue, Langford)

Sunday, October 2, 9:00am, 10:30am and 6:30pm
Glad Tidings Church (1800 Quadra Street, Victoria)

The performances will be offering a look at the fascinating culture of the Maasai tribe in Tanzania and a chance to become part of the story of hope by helping their school expand.
