Community Social Service Workers Honoured

Community Social Service workers will be honoured at a free barbeque funded by several social service union locals this Saturday, August 25th, at Playfair Park.  

Community Social Service workers in part provide care for those with developmental, physical and social disabilities. They support children and adults who need help to fully participate in their communitites by creating homes for them in supported housing, helping them find and keep employment, and enabling them to participate in a wide variety of recreation and community activities. Community Social Service workers also serve the homeless, women fleeing abuse, people with mental illness, immigrant families, at-risk and street-involved youth and people in conflict with the law.

All Community Social Service workers, families, clients, and advocates are encouraged to attend the barbeque as honoured guests this Saturday, August 25th, at 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Playfair Park, 1198 Rock Street, Saanich.
