Drifter’s Clip @ Open Space
Written by CFUV Communications on 05/05/2011
Opening on Friday May 6 at 7:00 p.m., Drifter’s Clip pairs two cinematic projects that tease memory and history. Media installations by video artist Jeremy Borsos featuring a twenty-seven-channel projection assembled from clips of found 8mm footage (circa 1937-70) entitled Been Poll. The second cinematic project features the work of collective DRIL called Move It On Over, which forms an iconic history of the tumbleweed as a transient symbol of the desolate Wild West, a harbinger or witness of hardship and conflict. The exhibition closes with a lecture, In the Key of Kodachrome, with curator Peter White (Montreal), on Saturday, May 28 at 7:00 p.m.
